October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This disease hits especially close to home for me. My mother battled breast cancer for 14 years before passing away because of it 4 years ago on October 5th, 2020.
There isn’t a family or person today that hasn’t been touched by cancer in some form. I’d like to give back in remembrance of my mother to help those still currently in the fight! We’ll be supporting Pink Ribbon Girls this month. It is an organization that provides meals, house cleaning and rides to those in the midst of their fight. This means a lot to me because I remember at times when my mother was too sick from the chemotherapy, had vertigo, or her body ached so much she couldn’t hold something in her hand.
Pink Ribbon Girl's would have been a godsend to my family. Every $96.00 will help support a family for a weeks worth of meals and care. We hope to raise four weeks worth of support. Enough for one family to be supported for a month or four families to be supported for one week each.
My mother, even though she was so sick and in so much pain at times never let it get her spirits down. She was always smiling, laughing, and positive about her situation. I know times are tough right now, but if you can, think about supporting this great cause this month.
