General Pests we service:
- Stink Bugs
- Silver Fish
- Carpenter Bees
- Carpenter Ants
- Other Pest Intruders
Ants are some of the most intrusive pests we deal with. They are constantly looking for a good source of food and water. In the process they lay down a pheromone trail behind them that other ants will follow. Because of this, it can result in massive amounts of ants coming into our homes and businesses in a relatively short period of time. This can disrupt anyones day and cause feelings of frustration, especially when it happens time and time again. Call Elite Pest and Termite Control and ask about our general pest control options that will help get rid of those ants. In the mean time be sure to wipe up the area you are seeing the ants in, with soap and water, being sure to keep it dry, and free of food, until we are able to come out and treat for them.
Believe it or not it is very uncommon to actually be hurt by spiders, but that does not stop us from being fearful of them. There are some spiders that are venomous. In Ohio, venomous spiders are very rare, which in our case is a good thing! Even though we know these things, it still can be frustrating when spider webs and spiders in general invade our homes and businesses. When we see them creeping around in the middle of the night on the ceiling, or randomly hanging out on a wall we can’t help but fear we may swallow them at night and never know it (which is a myth, by the way). Elite Pest and Termite Control is here to help you. We provide a treatment that will lessen the activity of spiders around your homes and businesses with many of our service programs. Call today to find out which one you would benefit from most.
Cockroaches are not something you want to deal with ever inside of your homes and businesses, however the fact of the matter is they do come at times. Cockroaches are some of the most adaptable pests there are in this world we call home. They can cause health issues such as asthma and allergies to flare up when an infestation occurs. It is imperative that you keep opened food containers sealed and in plastic containers to help keep them at bay. They can be a more challenging pest to get rid of, call Elite Pest and Termite Control for an assessment and to figure out what the next steps you can take in controlling them.
The dreaded stink bug. They have no natural predator here in the US. They love to show up at the most strange times and in the craziest places too. It never fails when you are sitting on the couch and you glance at the lamp and see one hanging out happily. Stink bugs only emit a smell when they feel threatened or if they are crushed. If you find them inside of your home you are better off flushing them or throwing them outside. When they are crushed they release their smell and it attracts other stink bugs to where they are, which is exactly what you do not want to happen.
Typically stink bugs are most active in the fall when they get ready to come inside and bed down for the winter months inside of our window frames and wall voids. You may notice them congregating around the outside of your house sunbathing this time of year, soaking up those last warm rays of sunshine before the cold weather sets in. In the wintertime you may see them inside of your home, and that is due to the fact that we heat up our homes and they start to think it is time to come out, and it is spring. Little do they know, it is not! Fall is by far the best time to treat for them, but it is also very important that we follow up with another service in the spring to help control their activity. By having a Seasonal or Four Seasons Quarterly program with Elite Pest and Termite Control you will help control their activity much more within your homes and businesses. Call today to get started.
Fleas are a tiny little creature that tend to infest our homes when we have pets. They do not fly, they actually have some really neat tiny jumping legs. They can actually jump as high as 8″ into the air. Fleas are parasites, so they feed on blood. Unfortunately for us that means they feed on humans and pets. To help prevent flea activity, vacuum often, keep your yard clean of harborage areas. That means you must remove things that might cause them to breed like garbage as well as cleaning up pet droppings frequently. It is also important to keep pets on a flea and tick preventative to help lessen the chances of a flea infestation. If you are dealing with fleas give Elite Pest and Termite Control a call today to set up an inspection.
Millipedes and Centipedes
Millipedes and Centipedes are incredible looking creatures, but often leave people feeling fearful due to the way they slither under cracks and crevices and have many legs. The good news, generally they are harmless to humans. Unless, of course, you find yourself near a Giant Desert Centipede, then you might need to run for the hills. Our Seasonal and Four Seasons Quarterly service programs include service for these pests. With these services we are able to monitor and control their activity.
Beetles have wings and eat on plants and other plant and animal debris. Actually, beetles are not bugs at all. Beetles and bugs are classified differently. Beetles mouths are made for chewing, and they have hard encasements around their wings. Bug mouths are made for piercing and sucking. These little pests show up typically sunning themselves on plants during the day and are attracted to bright lights at night. Call today to find out how Elite Pest and Termite can help with the beetles around around your homes and businesses.
These little silver slithery creatures get their name from the way they move around. When they move they look like they are a fish slithering around on the floor. They tend to hide out in dark, moist areas. Lots of stored items, and old books are happy places for them. You will often find them where food sources are present. Occasionally you may also come across them in your sinks and tubs. For control of these pests give Elite Pest and Termite Control a call today.
Stinging Insects: Wasps, Bees, Carpenter Bees, Yellow Jackets etc.
Many stinging insects cause people anxiety over being stung as well as cause unneeded damage to the home. We at Elite Pest and Termite Control value nature and what these insects provide, but when they are going to put someone in harms way we want to be sure to protect people in the most sustainable way. We are able to help you identify the type of stinging insect you are dealing with, come up with a treatment plan, and help you get back to feeling safe and secure around your property. There are times when we come across Honey Bees, and will put you in touch with a local bee keeper to help save these bees. They are very beneficial to the environment and we want to make sure they are taken care of properly. Carpenter bees tend to cause major damage to our outside wood structures and also can be very aggressive toward humans in nature. We are able to come out assess the situation and also provide a plan in how to seal up the holes that they created. Other stinging insects like wasps and yellow jackets pose heath risks due to their nesting patterns and their stinging capabilities. Give Elite Pest and Termite a call to set up the treatment that best suits your needs.
Carpenter Ants can cause major damage to homes if left untreated. They do not eat the wood, but they instead excavate the wood creating galleries which weakens the structure over time. They need a constant source of moisture to survive, and that typically comes from the rotting wood they have found to make their homes in. Identifying them can be a little tricky as they are often confused with termites. These ants are large, typically around 1/4in in size. They also have a black segmented body. If you suspect you have carpenter ants call Elite Pest and Termite Control for an inspection to determine the right course of action and treatment plan.
Mice and rats can leave anyone stressed to the max. Hearing them running at night, leaving droppings behind, and getting into food sources found within your home are just a few things that frustrate people. When Elite Pest and Termite Control comes in we inspect for possible entry points, seal up small holes, and guide you in ways to prevent further activity. We also will monitor the rodent activity with traps and baits that will allow us to know exactly how much activity is present so that we can get control of the issue. Call today to get more information on how we can help you.
